# Apprise

[Apprise](https://github.com/caronc/apprise) sends to NoticeFox through its generic
`jsons://` plugin (JSON over HTTPS), with the token in a header:

```bash
apprise -t "Backup" -b "Nightly backup finished" \
  "jsons://api.noticefox.app/v1/notifications?+Authorization=Bearer%20nfx_send_…"
```

Apprise sends `title` and `message`, NoticeFox's own field names. Its plugin also adds
`version`, `type` and `attachments` to every payload; NoticeFox ignores exactly those three,
so the default payload works as it is. Any other field NoticeFox doesn't know is still
`400 invalid_field`.

Notes:

- `+Authorization=…` adds the request header. Percent-encode the space after `Bearer` as
  `%20`.
- Apprise URLs end up in configuration files and logs. Use a token made for Apprise alone,
  so you can revoke it without touching anything else.
- In Home Assistant's Apprise integration, the same URL works as the integration's `url`.
- The notification uses the `notice` scene. For scenes, levels, tags and targets, use
  [curl](curl.md) or Home Assistant's [`rest_command`](home-assistant.md).
